Laura and Ed had a beautiful winter wedding at Willowdale Estate — a premier Boston wedding venue. Although we didn’t get the white fluffy snow we hoped for this was still one of my all-time favorite weddings! Laura and Ed hosted an event that was extremely laid back, yet had a strong luxury vibe that was filled with an abundance of small details. From Laura’s jaw-dropping dress to Ed’s custom suit, down to the plethora of candles that lit the ceremony with warm light, this was one of those weddings where everything seemed too perfect to be true.

Here is our adorable Q&A with Laura and Ed…try not to tear up.
Tell us how you first met? Who, what, when, where, and why?Him: Laura had been working for a mutual friend of ours at a store when I first saw her. Her beauty definitely caught my attention so I asked about her. Our friend is a pretty good judge of character and thought that we would actually hit it off. One night we were both invited to our friends house for a party where we actually got to meet and talk. We ended up talking the whole night and then went out on our first date a few days later.
When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?, etc. Her: From our very first date, I immediately felt a connection. Ed made me laugh, and it was so easy to talk to him. I had never had that in a relationship before. I remember feeling so comfortable with him, and even crying after our first date because at 27 years old I finally felt Love.
Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)Him: After I had purchased the ring I needed to figure out how to execute it as perfect as I could. We had an upcoming trip to Nice, France but i knew she was expecting it and thought i would probably propose there. I really wanted to but I thought it was too obvious. Plus having a random TSA search was freaking me out! so i booked a hotel for one night in another of our favorite vacation locations, Portland, Me. My excuse was I wanted to go to one of my favorite breweries to get beer. After the brewery, we went out for the day and night, hitting some restaurants and bars. The next morning, I told her I wanted to try out my new lens i got for my camera. So we walked down to some quiet cobblestone streets with the camera (and the ring!) I set the camera up on a trip-pod, hit the record button, and dropped to one knee. I had a whole speech planned but she was so excited i couldn’t get much out! It’s a short video but I’m so glad i captured that moment on video. the dark red brick and cobblestones make it that much more beautiful.
Tell us the one thing you love most about each other. Her: I love his loyalty. He is loyal friend, and a loyal son. That is how I knew he would always be my rock and my be with me through it all. Him: She is the absolute sweetest person. She is so caring and thoughtful and compassionate. I could go on all day about how amazing she is!
If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does. Her: Haha Ed is a silly man. When is he not making a joke or making everyone laugh. I love the energy he brings into life. Him: When Laura gets really excited she rubs her nose really fast. its pretty much the funniest thing i’ve ever seen.
Besides getting married – what’s the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day? Her: The Donuts!!!Him: The donuts! and tearing up the dance floor!
What’s your favorite trend for weddings right now? 8) What inspired your décor or theme? Her: Winter Weddings are all about fires, candles and warmth so I just played off of that and filled the place with as many candles as I could. It felt cozy and that was what I loved. It just accentuated the warmth of family and friends.
What’s one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning? Him: Not to sweat the small details too much. As long as the bigger items are taken care of, the day will be great!
