- Tell us how you first met? Who, what, when, where, and why?
It was the night of my 21st birthday. I had plans to go out with my cousin and her friend from college. Her friend asked us if we wanted to meet up with some of her old friends from high school, so we did. We met at a bar in Boston known as, “Sissy K’s”. When the guys introduced themselves to us one of them stood out to me. Jonathan reached out to shake my hand and I just remember how handsome I thought he was. We immediately hit it off. We ended up going outside of the bar and talking for hours getting to know one another. We exchanged numbers and met up again the next night in Boston. We were inseparable ever since 🙂
2. When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?, etc.
Cristina: After months of dating we spent a lot of time together. He got to know my family and friends and the way he treated not only me but them as well is what truly made me fall for him. I come from a protective family with two older brothers. Most guys were overwhelmed by them, but not Jonathan. Jonathan has a personality that makes it hard not to like him. He made every effort to talk and get to know my family from the start. This meant so much to me.
Jonathan: People cross your paths not just for any reason and for me the moment I laid eyes on her I can honestly say I knew she was the one I wanted to give everything I had in me to.
3. Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)
Our story is a bit different then most. Jonathan and I decided we would get married before his deployement. Without making it known, I was a little bummed inside that we wouldn’t have a “normal” engagement, but it didn’t matter because all I wanted was him in the end. He was scheduled to leave October of 2016. He came home for a few days that month so that we could get married and spend our last few days together before he left for his 9 month deployment. My cousin, who is extremely talented at taking photos asked me if I wanted to take some of Jonathan and I before he leaves. We planned this beautiful day in the Boston Public Garden. The shoot was going smoothly, besides the fact that it rained (just like my Wedding 🙂 ). We were just finishing up when Jonathan started saying these sweet words to me which ended with him getting down on one knee and proposing to me. Jonathan knew deep down that I wanted that special engagement and him, being the sweet man that he is, made that happen.
4. Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.
Crisina: The thing I love most about Jonathan is how optimistic he always is. Even through bad times Jonathan always finds the positive in every situation. He always knows what to say to make me happy and laugh till I hurts.
Jonathan: What’s not to love about her! Aside from being the most beautiful person inside and out, Cristina is also the most selfless person I know. She genuinely cares for others and would do anything to brighten someone else’s day up I believe that is the best quality anybody can carry, and that is by far one of the best things I love of about her.
5. If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.
Jonathan sometimes thinks he is Michael Jackson when he dances. He sometimes does this move when he stretches out his arms with his elbows bent and he legitimately looks like T. Rex.
6. Besides getting married – what’s the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?
I was so nervous on my wedding day, but one thing that helped calmed me down is thinking about seeing Jonathan’s face and his huge smile at the end of the isle.
