Tell us how you first met? Who, what, when, where, and why?We met at a pool in Waikiki almost two years ago. Both of us were celebrating with separate groups of friends that started mingling while in the pool. Grant’s wacky humor and high energy immediately made him stand out. After the afternoon as the pool the groups parted ways. Grant found out where my girlfriends and I were going that night and made all of this friends come along. We ended up dancing the night away, but I wasn’t convinced I wanted to spend any significant time with him after that. It took a month for me to come to my senses. After our first official date of standup paddling and margaritas I knew this was someone I didn’t want to be without ever again. When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?, etc.Our wedding officiant asked us this same questions and we both had the same answer. There was no pivotal event or moment that made us know. Since day one we have always felt a familiarity and enjoyment in being with each other. That still hasn’t changed to this day. Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)He actually surprised me. I couldn’t believe it. He had gotten my grandmother’s engagement ring from my father that day. We were spending the night in Boston and when we arrived in the hotel room there was a gorgeous sunset happening with the Boston Beacon Hill skyline. I was taking a picture and he saw the opportunity. He got down on one knee and the rest is history. Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.I love how Grant has the ability to keep me grounded. Grant would likely say that he loves how I know instinctively what he needs. If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does. The list for grant goes on and on. You don’t have enough space on this box!!As for me, I have a tendency to start talking about something without stating the subject matter. This leaves Grant having to backtrack on what I was doing or talking about. It’s like a puzzle game all the time. Besides getting married – what’s the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?Having all of our favorite people in the same room having fun.
What’s your favorite trend for weddings right now? 8) What inspired your décor or theme? We got married in a barn and the theme progressed from there. Pinterest was my best friend.
What’s one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?Planning was as good and as bad as I heard it would be. I think given the end result I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
